CROSS started as a UI concept for a stripped-down music streaming app focused on removing the usual clutter and bringing things back to a more intentional listening experience, inspired by modern standalone MP3 players. I’ve since pushed it into a working prototype using Node.js and Electron, integrating Spotify for real music access and adding an AI assistant that can recommend tracks and talk to users about music in a more conversational way. The design stays minimal: clean layouts, strong typography, and no unnecessary features but building it out forced me to rethink how to balance simplicity with actual functionality. Overall, it shifted from just a visual idea into something closer to a real product, where the challenge wasn’t just making it look clean, but making it work clean too with default (blue) color mode, dark mode, and light mode.
